Terms of Service

1. Service description

Synap is an AI-powered training planning tool for endurance athletes. It generates training plans, analyzes past activities and synced health metrics (sleep, heart rate, weight, body composition), and provides workout suggestions. Synap is not a medical device, not a licensed coaching service, and does not replace professional medical or coaching advice.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Synap. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Account & security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password. Synap uses bcrypt-hashed passwords and encrypted tokens. Do not share your account credentials.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Abuse AI generation endpoints or attempt to circumvent rate limits.
• Upload or transmit malicious code, spam, or infringing content.
• Access another user's account without authorization.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or automate access beyond normal use.

5. Third-party integrations

Synap connects to Strava and Garmin Connect via OAuth, an API key, or credentials you provide. You grant Synap permission to read and, where applicable, write activity and health data on your behalf. You can revoke this permission at any time by disconnecting the integration in Settings.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

Synap is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. AI-generated training plans are suggestions, not guarantees. Always listen to your body and consult a qualified coach or medical professional before starting a new training program.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Synap and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to training-related injuries, data loss, or service interruptions.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these terms. You may delete your account at any time via Settings. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

9. Changes to terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Synap after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
